Surviving the Precipitation Whiplash

DS421 students Kendall Calhoun and Sol Kim co-wrote an article “How to Start Adapting to California’s ‘Precipitation Whiplash‘” for Bay Nature Magazine. Kendall and Sol met journalist Eric Simons when he visited our Science Communication Workshop to discuss long-form science writing. The students followed up with Eric, and submitted this article on climate variation between droughts and floods in California. Kendall is a Ph.D. candidate from the Environmental Science Policy and Management department and Sol Kim is a Ph.D. candidate from the department of Geography.
